Scammers Impersonate Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre In Latest Ontario Scheme

Ontario is the target of another text scam. The scammers impersonate the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre by any means: text, phone, fax, etc. They use the CAFC letterheads and logos to make their claims look more legitimate. In doing so, they use a scheme to say they are trying to catch a dishonest bank employee. Do not dial *72 as they have the ability to intercept those calls and work along with the scammers to trick victims into making cash withdrawals or provide credit card details.

Be vigilant, if they require help to catch a dishonest employee, that is upon them to do so, not you. Hang up.
