New Parking Ticket Text Scam in Toronto
Fraudulent texts are making their way in Toronto, if you see a text saying you have an overdue parking ticket and that your license could be revoked, DO NOT click on the link. The link will ask for personal information including information about your vehicle.
Using the sense of urgency to pressure individuals into clicking the link can lead to scammers gaining access to your phone and then to identity theft.
Toronto Police have stated that they do not send out text for traffic violations. Simply delete the text, do not respond to it.
